About the role

Key responsibilities

Join our GTM team as the first dedicated sales professional at Kinde. If you're passionate about sales, obsessed with great products, and eager to have a foundational impact at an exciting, growing startup—this role was made for you.

We’re looking for someone with a few years of experience in sales at an early-stage technology company. You thrive on building authentic relationships, deeply understanding customer needs, and helping people fall genuinely in love with our product.

Most of the time you will work on the stuff listed below:

  • Put your skills of hunting and persuasion to work as you will be in charge of all inbound opportunities, creating your own pipeline, doing a bit of Product Led Sales and business development, and of course closing deals every month.
  • Own a sales conversation from first contact to closed won and be a trusted business advisor as you educate and guide them through their journey of changing their authentication and billing for their software application.
  • Have an attention to detail to accurately manage and report on the sales pipeline as recording the key technical details you hear in sales calls.
  • Build long term relationships with customers you get on to Kinde, so they can upsold opportunities later down their journey.
  • Work collaboratively with all teams. You'll work closely with our Growth, Marketing and Engineering teams. You know the best value comes from teams that work together towards a shared vision.
  • Deeply understand our customers. You know what makes them tick and know how to measure what works and what doesn't.
  • Set the standards. We're looking for thinkers and inventors who can come up with new approaches to old ideas and push the industry forward.

About you

Experience

As a Founding Account Executive at Kinde, you’ll often be working across a number of different channels. As a growing company, there’s lots to do and everyone pitches in! We know you’ll have a range of skills and experience that you can use to help us in our mission, but below are just a few of the main ones that we’re looking for:

  • Proven track record of selling a technical software (bonus points for early stage) product into software engineering teams. You know how to get their attention and how to win their trust to go on the buying journey with you.

  • You know the right questions to ask. You know how to find out where our customers hang out and how we can get in front of them.

  • Getting into the detail makes you tick and you are inquisitive to learn about your lead’s business and requirements so that you can loop in the wider Kinde team when ready.

  • You know how (or are willing to dive in and learn) to manage a sales pipeline, help set sales strategy and build out a sales function.

  • You think outside the box. The world is changing, quickly. You're excited by new and creative ways to engage with software engineers, technical leaders and the software development community.

  • Honest and open communicator. You'll build strong relationships with people across the team and are a trusted source of knowledge for all things marketing. Your work reflects Kinde’s mission, vision and values.

  • You work with calm determination. Our growth plans are bigger than big so you need to be excited to move quickly but able to keep a level head.

  • Are looking for a Head of Sales role.There’s huge growth potential here, but right now, we need someone passionate about getting deals done and helping manage our expanding pipeline.

  • Prefer to be part of a large sales team.This role thrives on independence and initiative—even as we scale.

  • Don’t enjoy collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.Our sales process is highly product-driven from first call to close.
